National Contests

Mrs. Butterworth’s “Write the Book about Mrs. Butterworth” - In cooperation with Scholastic, Mrs. Butterworth is on the lookout for children ages 7-12, to tell their stories by entering the “Write the Book about Mrs. Butterworth” contest – about their family breakfast traditions. Grand prize winners will have their book published and will receive a $5,000 U.S. Savings Bond. “We’d like to invite children to create their own Mrs. Butterworth’s memory to continue the emotional connection with this beloved character and brand.”
Guidelines:
• Ages 7-12
• 400-word
• Can include photos or illustrations
as long as they aren’t personal photos or photos of the contestant or any identifiable person
•Can include recipes and cooking tips
Judged by an independent panel of experts including Scholastic education experts, executives, educators and children’s book authors.

7th Annual Jif Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest™ from August 4 through November 14, 2008. - A Peanut butter sandwich could help an aspiring child chef pay for college. Sandwiches are judged on the following criteria: creativity, taste, appearance, nutritional balance and ease of preparation. Grand prize: $25,000 scholarship fund. Jif Moms Voice their Choice Contest - from August 4, 2008 through November 14, 2008, adults can submit an essay - 250 words or less - answering either of the following questions: How do you (as a Mom) make the best choices for your family? Or if you are not a Mom, how have you observed a Mom making the best choices for her family? One grand prize winner will win a trip to New York City to serve as a judge at the final 7th Annual Jif Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich event in March, 2009.
