Web Site Reminds At-Home Moms to
Smile During the Long Summer Break
National Smile Week Contest to Be Held on MommaSaid.net

By the time August rolls around, the sand in the couch cushions, cries of “I’m bored,” and gum stuck yet again in someone’s ponytail has all but wiped the smiles off most at-home moms’ faces. During this year’s National Smile Week (the second week in August), however, MommaSaid.net wants to put those smiles back with a contest just for stay-at-home moms.

From July 20th through August 3rd, at-home moms can submit funny stories about their kids to MommaSaid.net for a chance to win prizes. Then, during National Smile Week, MommaSaid will pick the funniest story each day for five days and post them online. Winners will receive DVDs of the movies that made them smile 20 years ago: The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Pretty in Pink, Risky Business and St. Elmo’s Fire.

“When you spend 14 hours a day, day after hot summer day, refereeing yet another fight over who gets to ride on the scooter, you tend to lose your sense of humor,” says Jen Singer, creator of www.MommaSaid.net, the stay-at-home mom’s coffee break™. “But if you stop to remember the funny things your kids say and do, you can’t help but smile,” adds Singer.

Jen Singer’s parenting humor has appeared or soon will appear in American Baby, Family Circle, The New York Times, Parenting and Woman’s Day. She makes at-home moms smile by awarding them “Housewife” Awards bi-weekly on www.MommaSaid.net.
