Prevent Blindness America Invites Kids Ages 3 to 12 to Enter Through My Eyes Holiday Coloring Contest
Prevent Blindness America is putting out the call to kids ages three through 12, who have experienced vision problems, to enter the first-ever holiday card contest, Through My Eyes. Vision problems can include wearing glasses, lazy eye, eye injuries, or any hereditary conditions.
Entry must be the childs own work, with a limit of one entry per person. Kids can express their creativity in any manner, but are encouraged to create images suitable for holiday cards. Entries must be submitted on no larger than 81/2x11-inch piece of white paper (please protect with cardboard when mailing) in the following 2-D media: markers, crayons, colored pencils, paint, pastels, or collage.
All entries become the property of Prevent Blindness America and will not be returned. Entries must be postmarked or received by September 30, 2003. Please mail entries to: Prevent Blindness America, 500 E. Remington Road, Schaumburg, IL 60173, Attention: Coloring Contest.
A panel of judges representing Prevent Blindness America will select one winner in each of the following age groups: ages 3-6; ages 7-9; and ages 10-12 based on creativity and suitability for reproduction. Winners will be notified by mail or phone by November 1, 2003. Decisions of the judges are final.
Winners will receive 50 blank holiday cards featuring their winning design in time to send for Christmas, an adorable, plush Patch puppy, the official mascot of the Eye Patch Club, and a $25 savings bond.
